Ejmiadzin, is the fourth-largest city in Armenia and the spiritual centre of the Armenians, as it is the seat of the Catholicos of All Armenians, the head of the Holy Armenian Apostolic Church. Historically, the focal point of the city is the Mother Cathedral of Holy Ejmiadzin. Apart from the Mother Cathedral, Ejmiadzin contains three other important Armenian churches: Saint Hripsime Church, Saint Gayane Church, Shoghakat.
Mother Cathedral of Holy Etchmiadzin is a 4th century Armenian church in the town of Ejmiadzin. It is the central cathedral of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin of the Armenian Apostolic Church. It was built in the beginning of 4th century after adopting the Christianity. It was originally built by Saint Gregory the Illuminator.

Ejmiadzin   Zvartnots

Echmiadzin is the 4 th largest city in Armenia. Echmiadzin is to considered the residence Episkoposov and the spiritual center of all Armenians. The main 5 churches of Echmiadzin Holy See of Etchmiadzin, St. Hripsime and Gayane, Shoghakat Monastery and Church of St. Mary. Echmiadzin .Cathedral was built in the beginning of the IV century, by the patriarch of the Armenian Church St. Gregory Illuminator.Zvartnots was built during the reign of Catholicos Nerses III Thai in 643-652 years.

Zvartnots Temple became famous by the historic Sebeos, which is mentioned under the name of St. Gregory St. Gregory in Vagharshapat and  in Arapare. It expected that at the territories of Zvartnots was built temple for gods. According to the historic Sebeos, King Trdat III and Gregory the Illuminator met in 301years. In historical sources there is no precise information about the destruction of the temple (it is believed that it was destroyed by the earthquake). We know that it lasted until the XX century ruins of the temple was covered with soil, the excavation was carried out in 1901-07 under the direction of Khachik Dadayan and since 1904 was directed by the Toros Toromyan.
